Firefighters quickly knocked down a Thursday night garage fire in Plumstead Township before flames could fully spread into a nearby home, officials said.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 10:20 p.m. to the 3800 block of Jacob Stout Road for a reported dwelling fire. Arriving firefighters encountered heavy flames and smoke coming from an attached garage, according to dispatch reports and fire officials.
Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company said officials, upon arrival, confirmed a working fire involving the garage. Firefighters immediately deployed a hose line and began an aggressive attack on the blaze, working to stop the fire from extending deeper into the residence.
Officials said crews brought the fire under control within minutes of arrival. Damage was reported to the home, while a neighboring property sustained melted siding from the intense heat exposure.
Doylestown Fire Company No. 1 assisted with a second hose line and helped crews remove the garage door to improve interior access during suppression operations.
No injuries were reported.
“The fast coordinated effort helped keep this fire from becoming much worse,” Plumsteadville Fire Company stated in a social media post Friday morning.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
