Warrington seeks volunteers to help preserve township history

Historical society needs website help while commission looks to fill open seat

  • Things To Do

Warrington Township is putting out a call for community members to help shape how its history is preserved and shared — both online and in person.

The Warrington Historical Society is seeking volunteers to assist with the development of a new website, as the organization looks to replace its current platform with a more modern, user-friendly design. The updated site is expected to play a key role in organizing historical content, promoting events and improving communication with the public.

Officials said the opportunity is ideal for those with experience or interest in web design, content organization or digital communications, including retirees looking to stay active in the field or residents hoping to build their skills while contributing to the community.

At the same time, the Warrington Township Historical Commission is looking to fill a vacancy on its board, offering another way for residents to get involved in preserving local history.

The commission meets in person on the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the County Line Schoolhouse on Folly Road in Warrington Township, and plays a role in advising on historical matters and promoting the township’s heritage.

Current commission leadership includes Chair Dr. Constance L. Ace, Vice-Chair Guy Powell and Secretary Roseann Diorka, along with several members serving staggered terms. The open seat carries a term through Dec. 31, 2027.

Residents interested in volunteering with the historical society’s website project or learning more about the commission vacancy can contact Mary Doyle Roth at [email protected] or call 215-343-9239.

For those with a passion for history — or simply a desire to give back — officials say both opportunities offer a chance to help ensure Warrington’s past remains accessible for future generations.
