Pennridge clinched at least a share of the Suburban One League Colonial Division baseball title Monday, rallying from a four-run deficit before defeating North Penn 5-4 in nine innings.
The Rams extended their winning streak to nine games when TJ McGuigan delivered a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning, scoring the winning run after Pennridge opened the frame with consecutive walks, according to The Reporter. The division title marks Pennridge’s first SOL crown since 2011.
North Penn jumped ahead early with two runs in both the second and third innings, highlighted by a solo homer from Grayson Fontaine, but Pennridge chipped away before tying the game in the fifth on a wild pitch. Anthony Cox earned the win in relief for the Rams.
Elsewhere, Central Bucks West was shut out 7-0 by Souderton and no-hit by Penn State-bound pitcher Trent Lutz, who struck out 13 batters. CB West dropped its second straight game and fell to 11-6 overall and 8-5 in conference play.
