Two different vehicle accidents in two different communities have Bucks County traffic quite messy this Friday afternoon. One has left around 500 gallons of tar for crews to clean-up.
According to county dispatch, a call came in around 4:22 p.m. for the report of a vehicle on its roof in the area of the 2000 block of Country Club Drive. First responders were attempting to extricate a male driver. His condition was not released.
At 4:33 p.m., just 11 minutes later, a similar call came into emergency services, reporting an auto extrication in New Britain Township. Around the unit block of Brook Lane, on Sellersville Road, units responded to a vehicle on its side.
That vehicle was a flatbed truck. The truck had been carrying a load which included a container of tar, which leaked onto the roadway. According to those at the scene, the tar also reached a sewer drain, forcing Hazmat teams to respond to the call.
Traffic in the 100 block of Sellersville Road is blocked in both directions near Brook Lane. Tar continues to cover the roadway at the time of publication. No other vehicles appear to have been involved.
The driver’s condition in the tar truck accident was also not released at this time. More information will be published on these incidents as it is made available. Drivers are asked to avoid the areas as emergency crews work to clear them.
