SELLERSVILLE BOROUGH FIRE

Fire in Sellersville contained to shed Thursday afternoon

Black smoke header reported, no injuries in multi-company response

  • Public Safety

Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a working fire in Sellersville Borough late Thursday afternoon, where a blaze was reported at a property along Noble Street.

The incident was dispatched around 4:25 p.m., with initial reports from a passerby describing black smoke coming from a building and a person seen running from the area.

Police arriving on scene advised the fire appeared to involve a shed attached to the structure.

First-arriving crews stretched a 2.5-inch hose line to the rear of the building and quickly began attacking the fire, which had started to extend toward the roofline. A ladder company was sent to the roof to check for spread as crews worked to contain the flames.

Firefighters were able to knock down the bulk of the fire in the shed area before it spread further, then shifted operations to checking for extension into the main building, described as a warehouse.

The fire was placed under control, by 5 p.m., with units remaining on scene to ensure no hidden fire remained. Command later advised responding units to reduce speed as the situation stabilized.

Silverdale, Sellersville, Perkasie, Tylersport and Quakertown fire companies all assisted at the scene.

No injuries were reported.
