Fitzpatrick visits Doylestown child care center for Week of the Young Child

Congressman highlights importance of early education, support for working families

U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick stopped by a Doylestown child care center earlier this month as part of a national celebration recognizing the role of early childhood education.

Fitzpatrick visited Lightbridge Academy in Doylestown during the Week of the Young Child, an annual initiative led by the National Association for the Education of Young Children that honors young learners, educators and families. During his visit, the congressman toured the facility, spent time in classrooms, read to students and spoke with teachers and parents.

The visit underscored the importance of high-quality early education programs, particularly as families continue to balance work and child care needs. Fitzpatrick’s office said the stop was aimed at highlighting how early learning environments support child development while also serving as a critical resource for working parents.

Lightbridge Academy offers programs for children from six weeks old through pre-kindergarten, focusing on a structured yet nurturing environment designed to support developmental growth. Center leaders said demand for quality child care continues to rise, reinforcing the need for accessible early education options in communities like Doylestown.

The Week of the Young Child is celebrated nationwide each year to raise awareness about the impact of early learning and to recognize the educators and programs that help shape children’s earliest years.

Established in 1997, the company, according to a release, was founded as a family business based on core values and a Circle of Care philosophy that places equal importance on the needs of children, their families, teachers, center owners and the community.

Lightbridge Academy, Innovators in Educational Child Care®, provides quality early education and child care programs to children aged six weeks through Kindergarten. The company currently has over 200 child care centers either open or in development throughout Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
