PHILADELPHIA — How about that for a spark?
Called up Saturday to help inject some life into a Phillies team that's gotten very little right-handed hitting production so far in 2026, left fielder Felix Reyes took nine-time All-Star Chris Sale deep in the first at-bat of his MLB career to give his team a 1-0 lead over the Atlanta Braves:

Prior to Reyes, the last Phillie to homer in his first MLB plate appearance was Weston Wilson, who did so on Aug. 9, 2023 against the Washington Nationals, the same night that Michael Lorenzen threw a no-hitter at Citizens Bank Park.
Reyes got a standing ovation as he trotted back out to left field in the top of the third inning:
