Tree down on wires closes stretch of Pickertown Road in Warrington

Utility crews responding after pole uprooted; no injuries reported

  • Public Safety

A section of Pickertown Road is closed in Warrington Township Friday afternoon after a large tree branch fell onto utility wires, bringing down a telephone pole, according to Warrington Township Police.

The closure is in place between Elbow Lane and Argyle Road, where police said the fallen branch caused the pole to become uprooted. Emergency crews are on scene awaiting response from utility companies.

No injuries have been reported, but officials said the downed wires and damaged pole remain a hazard in the area.

Motorists are advised to avoid Pickertown Road and use alternate routes, including Bristol Road or Street Road, for east-west travel through the township.
