A fundraising event at Texas Roadhouse in Montgomery Township later this month will support a patient-led organization dedicated to improving the lives of those with a rare form of muscular dystrophy.
The public is invited to attend a “Dine to Donate” fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 22, benefiting The Speak Foundation and hosted by Chalfont resident Victoria Nedza.
The Speak Foundation is a nonprofit advocacy group made up of adults and children living with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy. The organization works to bring together researchers, patients, families and caregivers to develop solutions aimed at improving quality of life for those affected by the disease.
Nedza, who is part of the LGMD community, is raising funds for the foundation’s Hope Program, which provides $300 grants to individuals in need of durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs and ramps.
In addition to the fundraiser, attendees can participate in a silent auction featuring several gift baskets valued at more than $500 each. Themes include “Mom’s Night Out,” “The Best of Bucks-Mont Eateries,” “The Ultimate Sports Lover,” and “Kids Only.”
“We encourage everyone to come out on April 22 to make this an outstanding fundraiser for the LGMD community,” Nedza said.
The winter round of the group's HOPE grant recently closed. It will announce another grant opportunity in the near future.
