A Plumstead Township police officer has been recognized for his life-saving actions, earning the 2026 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award from Doylestown Post 175 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Officer Ahmed Elkadousy received the honor during this month’s Board of Supervisors meeting, with officials citing his courage and decisive response to a January 2025 incident involving a wounded hunter, according to the Bucks County Herald.
Elkadousy had previously been awarded the department’s Life Saving Award for his actions, after locating the victim deep in the woods and quickly applying a tourniquet to control severe bleeding from a shotgun wound.
Police said Elkadousy not only stabilized the victim but also maintained communication with dispatch to ensure EMS and hospital personnel were fully prepared, while providing reassurance to the injured man during the emergency.
Elkadousy, who immigrated to the United States from Egypt at age 13, has built a career in law enforcement after working in his family’s restaurant and later attending Alvernia University and the Reading Police Academy. He has served with multiple departments prior to joining Plumstead Township Police.
