The Bucks County Clerk of Courts Office today announced that its Delinquency Recovery Program as of March 10 has successfully recovered more than $3 million in outstanding court-related debts since the program’s inception, marking a significant milestone in the office’s ongoing efforts to improve accountability and strengthen financial stewardship within the county’s judicial system.
The Delinquency Recovery Program was created to identify and recover unpaid court fines, fees and restitution. Through targeted outreach, payment plans, and improved case tracking, the program has helped bring previously uncollected funds back into the county, while offering individuals practical pathways to resolve their outstanding obligations. In addition to recovering court-related costs, the program also plays an important role in ensuring that restitution owed to victims of crime is collected and returned to those who suffered financial loss, helping restore a measure of justice and support for victims
“This milestone reflects my commitment to responsible financial management, support for victims, and fairness in the administration of justice,” said Eileen Hartnett Albillar, Bucks County’s Clerk of Courts. “Recovering these funds ensures that court-ordered obligations are fulfilled while providing individuals with structured opportunities to resolve their debts.”
Funds recovered through the program support the operation of the courts and other essential services tied to the criminal justice system. “DRIP emphasizes both enforcement and accessibility, allowing participants to work with my office to establish manageable payment arrangements.”
Since its launch in 2020, the Delinquency Recovery Program has improved collection efficiency while reducing the volume of long-outstanding cases. The Clerk of Courts Office continues to refine the program to ensure it remains effective, transparent, and fair. Residents who believe they may have outstanding court-related balances are encouraged to contact the Clerk of Courts Office to discuss their options for resolution.
