Motorists traveling through Chalfont and New Britain boroughs should expect overnight detours later this month as utility work takes place along Bristol Road, according to the PennDOT.
Bristol Road will be closed weeknights from Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27, between Unami Trail and Hibiscus Drive. The closures will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting.
During the work, drivers will be directed to follow a detour using Upper State Road, Route 152 (Limekiln Pike/Butler Avenue), and Business U.S. 202 (Butler Avenue).
Officials said local access will be maintained throughout the project, though motorists should allow extra travel time due to possible backups and delays near the work zone.
The work will be completed by Watts Services under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
Drivers can check real-time traffic conditions through 511PA, which provides traffic alerts, travel speeds, weather updates and access to hundreds of traffic cameras across Pennsylvania.
