A four-vehicle crash caused by icy conditions closed part of Route 611 (Easton Road) in Warrington Township Friday morning and sent two people to the hospital.

Police said officers were dispatched shortly before 7 a.m. Friday to Easton Road between Bristol Road and Kelly Road after reports of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries. A second caller also reported possible black ice in the area.

When officers arrived, they found the northbound lanes of Route 611 completely frozen over for about 100 yards, creating extremely hazardous driving conditions. The crash involved four vehicles, and two injured individuals were transported to Abington Hospital for treatment.

The roadway was temporarily closed while PennDOT crews treated the icy surface. Emergency responders from Warrington Ambulance, Central Bucks Ambulance, and the Warrington Fire Company assisted police at the scene.

Authorities said the roadway was treated and reopened around 7:49 a.m. Police reminded motorists to use caution during sudden temperature drops, noting that road surfaces can quickly become icy. The crash remains under investigation.
