According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the "Eagles continue to inquire about the Vikings’ Jonathan Greenard and remain in contact with his agent about a potential extension if a deal were to be struck."

To be clear, Greenard is not a free agent, so the Eagles would have to trade for the 28-year-old pass rusher. That they have spoken to his agent about a possible contract extension indicates that the Vikings have given Greenard and his representation permission to do so, because otherwise it would be tampering by the Eagles.

Greenard has two years remaining on a four-year/$76 million contract, but the $38 million in guarantees he got at the time of signing that contract have all be paid out. So there are no remaining guarantees on Greenard's deal, which would be why he would be seeking a new contract.

Originally a third-round pick by the Houston Texans in 2020, Greenard has recorded 38 sacks in six seasons in the NFL. But after he posted a 12-sack season for the Vikings in 2024, Greenard slipped to just three sacks in 12 games a season ago.

For what it's worth, Russini also added that "Philly is also keeping tabs on the free agent pass rush market after missing out on Trey Hendrickson."

The Eagles have already seen Jaelan Phillips depart for a four-year/$120 million contract with the Carolina Panthers that guarantees him $80 million.

As Russini noted, Hendrickson came off the board Wednesday morning, signing a four-year/$112 million pact that guarantees him $60 million with the Baltimore Ravens after they backed out of their agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire Maxx Crosby.

Additionally, there won't be a reunion between Vic Fangio and Bradley Chubb — who were together previously with both the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins — as the veteran pass rusher landed a three-year/$43.5 million contract with the Buffalo Bills, one that will guarantee him $29 million.
