Quakertown Community School Board accepted Superintendent Matthew Friedman’s resignation Tuesday evening.
Friedman began a leave of absence on Feb. 13, a week prior to high school students conducting a walkout in protest of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement which led to a violent encounter with police and the arrest of five teenagers.
At this writing, the reason for Friedman’s departure have not been disclosed. Assistant superintendent Lisa Hoffman has taken over his duties in the interim.
