An accident at the intersection of Union and Main streets in Doylestown Borough on Sunday is under active investigation, with authorities releasing few details as of Monday afternoon.
Central Bucks Regional Police confirmed only that the incident remains under investigation and that no information is being released at this time.
According to dispatch reports and accounts from the scene, the crash occurred around noontime Sunday and involved two vehicles. Initial radio traffic indicated that one of the drivers may have suffered a gunshot wound to the hand, with EMS requested to expedite to the scene. A witness reported seeing a man inside a vehicle with what appeared to be freshly missing fingers.
Following the collision, one of the drivers of the vehicles struck a building at the corner of Union and Main. Central Bucks EMS responded and at least one individual was transported from the scene. The extent of injuries has not been confirmed.
Both vehicles were towed, and traffic was mildly disrupted in the area while emergency crews worked. It was not immediately clear how long the scene remained active, whether any charges are anticipated, or whether police are seeking additional witnesses or surveillance footage.
