As part of the nation’s 250th birthday in 2026, the U.S. Mint is launching a semiquincentennial collection with coins featuring Pennsylvania ties.

A quarter honoring the Mayflower Compact entered circulation on Jan. 4 as the start of the yearlong program.

Each coin in the 2026 series will feature a dual date of “1776 ~ 2026,” which is a change from the standard practice of engraving only the year of minting.

Several of the upcoming releases show off Pennsylvania’s connections to the start of the country.

The Revolutionary War quarter features a Continental Army soldier at Valley Forge.

The Declaration of Independence Quarter features Thomas Jefferson and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

The U.S. Constitution Quarter honors James Madison and shows Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

The Gettysburg Address Quarter commemorates President Abraham Lincoln and his historic 1863 speech delivered at the Gettysburg battle field.

The full semiquincentennial collection includes redesigned versions of the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and half-dollar.

While several coins are designed for everyday use, the U.S. Mint confirmed that the 2026 pennies and half-dollars will be produced only for collectors and will not enter general circulation.

The following release windows have been set for the remainder of the 250th-anniversary series:

Revolutionary War Quarter: March 27 (Banks and direct purchase)

Enduring Liberty Half-Dollar: Spring (Direct purchase only)

Emerging Liberty Dime: Summer (General circulation)

1776 ~ 2026 Nickel: Summer (General circulation)
