The Warwick Township Board of Supervisors has announced the appointment of Jon Ogborn as the township’s new chief of police, elevating him from his role as deputy chief, a position he had held for the past year.

Ogborn brings more than 26 years of service within the Warwick Township Police Department to the role, along with a background rooted in public safety, according to the township.

Before his law enforcement career, he served as both a volunteer and career firefighter and EMT. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public safety administration and a master’s degree in business and organizational leadership, credentials township officials said position him well for the operational and strategic demands of leading the department.

Supervisors credited Ogborn with helping guide key initiatives in recent years, including securing Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation and obtaining grants that funded body-worn cameras and technology upgrades.

Looking ahead, Ogborn’s vision includes strengthening the department’s leadership pipeline, expanding community engagement efforts, and continuing to leverage technology to support modern policing strategies.

“We are confident that under Chief Ogborn’s leadership, the Warwick Township Police Department will continue to thrive and adapt to the evolving needs of our community,” the supervisors said in announcing the appointment.
