The New Britain Township Police Department is accepting applications to establish a hiring list for entry-level police officers, with the goal of filling future full-time openings within the department.
Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2025. Interested candidates can obtain applications in person at the New Britain Township Police Department, 207 Park Ave., Chalfont, during normal business hours.
A select number of applicants will be invited to participate in the interview process, which will be used to create a hiring list for upcoming vacancies.
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 21 years old, in good physical condition with proportional height and weight, and be a high school graduate or equivalent. Candidates must have successfully completed and be certified under Act 120 through the Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission by the date of hire, possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and be physically and mentally capable of performing the full duties of a police officer.
The probationary salary for entry-level officers in 2026 is $72,720, with officers earning between $82,207 and $122,156 once they reach one to three years of service. New Britain Township also offers a competitive benefits package and police pension. The township is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
