Code Blue in effect.
Bucks County issued a "Code Blue" declaration for the county through the end of January, due to the extended stretch of extreme cold and severe winter weather.
According to the county, shelters in Upper, Central and Lower Bucks will open Friday evening and will be in operation nightly through the evening of Jan. 31.

Please note that the Central Bucks shelter location moves to Doylestown Presbyterian Church for the evening of Jan. 31.
Guests are required to leave the shelters by 6:45 a.m. each day and may return in the evening, the county said.
The Upper and Lower Bucks shelters will open at 8:30 p.m. The Central Bucks shelter opens at 7:30 p.m.
A "Code Blue" is declared when the weather is forecast to drop below 20 degrees for two or more consecutive days.
