Two midweek nights are about to get a whole lot louder upstairs at Maxwell’s On Main.
The Doylestown hotspot is hosting back-to-back events in its brick-walled ballroom this week, continuing a long-running tradition of live entertainment that ranges from concerts and jazz to dance nights and drag shows.
On Wednesday, the dance floor turns country for MOM’s monthly Country Line Dancing Night, a beginner-friendly evening complete with step-by-step instruction from DJ Ashley Rose. Lessons and open dancing begin at 7 p.m., with tickets priced at $10.
The party shifts gears Thursday, with “Material Squirrels,” an ’80s-inspired drag show produced by Bucks County performer Miss Shuggenah O’Hare. The show features a cast of nine drag kings and queens celebrating iconic pop culture from the decade. Doors open at 7 p.m., with performances starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.
