  • Public Safety

The Buckingham Township Police Department recently welcomed three new officers to its ranks and announced the promotion of a longtime member of the department, according to a recent release.

Officer Emma Reese joined the department after graduating from the Allentown Police Academy on Dec. 12, 2025. Reese received the Tracy Szoke Memorial 110% Effort Award, recognizing exceptional dedication and commitment during her academy training.

Officer Courtney Truppay came to Buckingham from the Pennridge Regional Police Department, where she assisted the Bucks County Detectives Bureau in a narcotics investigation that ultimately led to a death investigation and prosecution, police said.

Officer Mohammed Elsayed previously served with the Bristol Borough Police Department, where he was recognized as a top-performing patrol officer and assigned as a school resource officer.

In addition to the new hires, the department announced the promotion of Sgt. Rick Hazelett to the rank of lieutenant. Hazelett joined the department in 2017 and was promoted to corporal in 2019 and to sergeant in 2022. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Leadership Development Program and Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.

Police officials said the additions and promotion will strengthen the department’s ability to serve Buckingham Township residents and continue providing high-quality public safety services.
