A second-alarm barn fire prompted a large multi-company response late Thursday morning in Nockamixon Township, Bucks County.
The fire was reported at about 11:05 a.m. in the 4900 block of Durham Road, where a barn was found to be fully involved upon arrival. Heavy fire was showing from the structure, leading to the transmission of a second alarm and the request for additional mutual aid.
The fire occurred at a renovated barn located several houses from Rick’s Egg Farm, according to emergency radio traffic.
Crews from multiple departments responded, including Springtown Fire Company, Springfield Township Fire Company, Community Fire Company No. 1, Ottsville Fire Company, West End Fire Company No. 2, and Haycock Fire Company.
Units from Stations 40, 42, 49, 63, 18, and 94 were reported operating on scene.
Firefighters worked to control the blaze as mutual aid companies assisted with suppression and scene operations. Traffic impacts were expected along Durham Road while emergency crews remained in the area.
No information was immediately available regarding injuries, animals involved, or the cause of the fire. The incident remained under investigation.
