Central Bucks School District will operate on a 2-hour delay Tuesday, due to post-storm impacts.
This means that all schools and district buildings will begin their day later than usual. Students and parents should adjust their schedules accordingly.
Additionally, the Central Bucks School Board meeting scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. will be relocated. Originally set to take place at the Educational Services Center at 16 Weldon Drive in Doylestown, the meeting will now be held at Central Bucks High School West’s auditorium at 375 West Court Street, Doylestown.
"Our incredible facilities, grounds, and transportation crews have been clearing district roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, and buses all day today. We applaud and appreciate their efforts! There has been a lot of snow and ice to remove this year, and they’ve done a remarkable job," wrote Interim Superintendent Dr. Charles Malone in an email to families Monday afternoon. "Because of their dedication, our buildings and campuses are in good shape. A delay will provide added daylight and time for re-salting and clean-up, as well as more time for our students and families to safely get to school."
Malone said the district will continue to monitor conditions overnight and will communicate through its usual channels by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, if circumstances change.
"We are also aware of forecasts calling for varying degrees of wintry precipitation later this week, including the potential for more snow, which could further impact school and event schedules," Malone said, adding families should check emails and texts related to weather. "I think it's safe to say that Punxsutawney Phil was right this year."
Delayed Start Times for Schools
If school is delayed for one or two hours, families should add the corresponding amount of time to their normal bus pick-up or school start time to determine the new schedule.
Full-day kindergarten programs will follow the same schedule as their corresponding grade levels.
