With snow beginning to fall and Winter Storm Hernando bearing down on the region, Central Bucks School District has announced that Monday will be a Flexible Instructional Day.
In a message to families Sunday afternoon, Interim Superintendent Charles Malone said schools and district buildings will be closed, with instruction continuing remotely.
No employees are to report to buildings except operations staff responsible for snow response and removal.
All after-school activities have been canceled.
The decision follows a blizzard warning issued by the National Weather Service, which remains in effect through 6 p.m. Monday. Forecasts call for significant snowfall, strong wind gusts and periods of near-zero visibility.
District officials said making the call in advance allows families to plan while prioritizing the safety of students and staff. FID expectations for all grade levels are available on the district’s website.
