What began as a simple birthday wish has become a heartfelt tradition supporting the Warrington Township Police Department K9 Unit.

For several years, Warrington resident Megan Rupar has celebrated her birthday not by receiving gifts, but by asking friends and family to donate to the township’s K9 Fund, police said.

After her birthday each year, Rupar personally meets with Corporal Blanchard and K9 Jolie, as well as Officer Fox and K9 Abby, to present her contribution and spend time with the teams she supports.

Police officials said Rupar’s annual gesture reflects both her admiration for the department’s K9 officers and her appreciation for the work they do to protect the community. The department described her continued commitment as an example of how community members can make a meaningful impact through generosity and gratitude.

The K9 Fund helps support the care, training and equipment needs of the department’s police dogs, which assist with patrol operations and public safety efforts throughout Warrington Township.
