A delivery route turned into a foot chase Monday afternoon when a UPS driver pursued a suspected package thief through a Bucks County neighborhood.
According to the Warwick Township Police Department, officers were dispatched at 1:15 p.m. to the 900 block of Beechwood Place for a reported theft in progress. A package had just been delivered when a suspect allegedly grabbed it, prompting the driver to take off on foot after the man.
Police said the chase moved through residential yards and continued to the 1000 block of Bancroft Place. The suspect then entered a waiting vehicle and fled the area.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a goatee, wearing a black jacket. He reportedly got into a white sedan, possibly a Honda Accord, with tinted windows. Police said the vehicle may not have had a license plate and was last seen heading toward Stover Street.
Authorities are asking residents in the area to review any home surveillance or doorbell camera footage that may have captured the suspect or vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Warwick Township Police at 215-343-6102, or after hours at 215-328-8502.
Police did not report any injuries related to the incident.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
