A Northampton County, Pa. man is charged with the statutory sexual assault of a 10-year-old Quakertown Borough girl, beginning in 2023.
William Joseph Wright Jr., 24, of Hellertown, was charged Jan. 29 by detectives with felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, as well as misdemeanor indecent assault on a person under 13, according to court documents.
According to the criminal complaint, on Oct. 29, 2025, detectives were contacted by a school resource officer regarding a possible sexual assault of a juvenile residing in the borough. The allegation surfaced after writings in the victim’s journal were found detailing inappropriate contact between the victim and a subject named “Billy,” according to the complaint.
The victim told detectives that the contact had not occurred recently and had taken place in a private home in the Bucks County borough, police said. Detectives eventually identified “Billy” as Wright Jr., according to the investigation.
Detectives said Wright and the victim would be naked together “on multiple occasions over an extended amount of time.”
During a Nov. 25, 2025 interview with detectives, Wright allegedly admitted to engaging in sexual contact with the minor “3 or 4 times” two or three years prior, when he was 21.
Wright is free on $50,000 unsecured bail, set by Magisterial District Judge Lisa Gaier, who will also judge his Feb. 12 preliminary hearing.
