Central Bucks School District is celebrating a pair of standout achievements, highlighting both national-level athletic success and academic excellence across its high schools.
At Central Bucks East, the cheerleading team captured a national title at the 2026 Universal Cheerleaders Association National Championship, taking first place in the Division 1 Small Varsity Non-Tumbling Game Day category.
The team traveled to Disney in early February for the competition, where they outperformed 41 teams from 19 states, including powerhouse programs from Texas, California and Florida.
The championship roster included athletes from all grade levels, led by coaches Kate Bowden, Lexi Carp and Erin O’Rourke.
Student-athletes recognized were senior Charlotte Opie; juniors Lily Biafore; Kaylee Gray; Alyssa Hathaway; Ella Richey; and Bella Sailor; sophomores Casey Corrigan; Issy DiMittia; Lily Fisher; Allison Gray; Julianna Reinhardt; Mallory Sexton; and Avery Widmer; and freshmen Charlotte Campagna; Vivian Campagna; Julia Nicotra; and Karissa Sleicher.
District officials also recognized students from Central Bucks East, South and West who were named National Merit Scholarship finalists — an honor awarded to fewer than one percent of students nationwide. The distinction is based on top PSAT scores and a rigorous application process that includes academic performance, recommendations and standardized test confirmation.
Honorees included Susanna Dai, Hanwen Hu, Madelyn Madrid and Harper Grace Polan from CB East; Alaina Ahuja, David Dougherty, Julian Grofcsik, Deborah Gym and Lucas Mohr from CB South; and Noah Gerstein and Sanat Nayak from CB West.
School leaders praised both groups for their dedication and achievement, noting the district’s continued strength in both academics and extracurricular programs at a national level.
