Local advocates and community members are set to gather in Doylestown Wednesday evening for a town hall-style event focused on protecting access to reproductive health care services.
Organized by Planned Parenthood Pennsylvania Advocates and partner groups, the “Ring for Repro: A People’s Town Hall” will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the James-Lorah Memorial Home.
The event is aimed at urging U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick to support continued access to Planned Parenthood services and related health care funding.
Organizers said the gathering comes amid ongoing federal and state-level discussions surrounding potential funding cuts to Planned Parenthood. Advocates argue that such changes could impact access to services including cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing and abortion care.
The event will include remarks from speakers, followed by a coordinated effort where attendees will contact Fitzpatrick’s office to voice their concerns and advocate for continued access to care.
Participating organizations are expected to include AAUW Doylestown, Committee to Protect Health Care, MomsRising Together and Pennsylvanians Together, along with local volunteers and supporters.
