A longtime Bucks County Catholic school teacher and youth sports coach who was arrested and charged in June with possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material was arrested by the FBI Monday morning before his preliminary hearing in Bucks County district court.
Richard Allen Adamsky, 65, of Warminster Township, was set for a hearing before Magisterial District Judge Christopher O’Neill, but he was suddenly taken into custody by federal agents and taken from the scene, according to NBC10.
In June, Adamsky was taken into custody by federal and local law enforcement after a search warrant was executed at his home, according to Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn.
Adamsky’s attorney, Christopher Serpico, told NBC10 the arrest was a surprise to everyone.
“I’m not aware of any new charges," Serpico told NBC10. "It seems to me that the charges that have been filed against him by the Department of Justice are the very same charges that have been filed by the Bucks County District Attorney's Office."
The case could be transferred to the federal government, according to reports.
Adamsky is charged with felony possession of CSAM and felony criminal use of a communications device, Schorn said.
He was a teacher and sports coach at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School in Warminster.
Adamsky was free on 10% of $500,000 cash bail.
The investigation was led by the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, with assistance from the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which includes detectives from the Bensalem Township Police Department and the Warminster Township Police Department, Schorn said.
The investigation began on March 30, 2025, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported possible downloading or obtaining of CSAM, according to authorities.
CMEC's report indicated that an image depicting a prepubescent female posing nude with her genitals exposed was uploaded using Microsoft Bing Reverse Image Search via an IP address, detectives said.
Further investigation traced the IP address to Verizon, which provided subscriber information leading to Adamsky, police said.
During questioning, Adamsky allegedly admitted to authorities that for about four to five years, he had been searching for, downloading, and saving hundreds of images depicting CSAM to his computer.
When asked how many he saved, he replied “too many,” according to the criminal complaint.
Adamsky taught and coached youth consistent with the age group depicted in the illicit images allegedly found on his devices, authorities said.
