About 1,780 multi-purpose children’s helmets sold online on Amazon are being recalled – due to the risk of head injuries.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the YooxArmor Multi-Purpose Kids’ Helmets, sold in size small, are pink with a unicorn, rainbow and star print with black padding, black straps, and black and red buckle with black chin pad. “YooxArmor” is printed on the reverse.
There is also a red and black plastic knob at the back of the helmet for adjusting the fit.
The recalled helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets because the helmets do not comply with the impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling and certification requirements, according to the US CPSC.
The helmets can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash, posing a serious risk of injury or death due to head injury, according to the recall.
There have been no reported injuries yet.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact YooxArmor for a full refund. Consumers should destroy the recalled helmet by cutting the straps off the helmet. Then, they can upload photos of the helmet with the straps cut off to [email protected] to obtain a refund.
They were sold exclusively on Amazon from October 2024 to July 2025 for $30. The retailer is Yiwu Shi Yuxing Keji Youxiangongsi, dba YooxArmor, of China.
