An 81-year-old woman died Tuesday after a two-vehicle crash on Route 1 in Morrisville Borough.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers from Trevose were dispatched to the crash at approximately 1:13 p.m. on Route 1 southbound near the Trenton-Morrisville Bridge.
State police said an 81-year-old woman from Yardley was driving a 2024 Toyota GR86 northbound in the southbound lane when she struck a tractor-trailer near the Pennsylvania Avenue interchange.
The woman was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where she was pronounced dead.
The tractor-trailer operator was transported to Jefferson Bucks Hospital in Falls Township for injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by state police.
According to a Facebook post from Morrisville Fire Co. on Wednesday morning, rescue crews on arrival found the driver trapped in the vehicle, which was wedged, front-end down, between the cab and the trailer. Assistance arrived from Falls Township Fire Co. and Fairless Hills Fire Department to stabilize the car and free the victim.
