The second half of the Suburban One League field hockey schedule is underway, and Central Bucks West has established itself as the team to beat in the Colonial Division.
According to The Times Herald, the Bucks are 8-3-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in league play, sitting at No. 4 in the District 1-3A rankings.
West’s biggest challenge so far came from North Penn, which it defeated 2-0 on Aug. 29 behind two goals from Laney Hall, according to the gameplay report. Despite firing 30 shots, the Bucks had to contend with a strong effort from Knights goalkeeper Kiley Moister, who tallied 28 saves to keep the contest close.
In their other league outings, West handled Pennridge (5-0), Souderton (6-1), CB South (7-2) and CB East (4-0), according to league statistics. The Bucks begin the second round Thursday on the road at North Penn.
Souderton sits right behind in second place at 4-1 in Colonial play. The Indians’ only loss came at the hands of West, but otherwise they have taken care of business against their divisional rivals, said The Times Herald.
CB South (3-2) and North Penn (2-3) are jockeying for position in the middle of the standings, while CB East (1-4) and Pennridge (0-5) round out the table, per the report.
Souderton, meanwhile, remains firmly in the mix for postseason contention if it can keep pace in the second half of divisional play.
