Doylestown Borough Council has approved a land-development application from Worth & Worth LP to consolidate two parcels at 159–161 West State Street, demolish the existing buildings, and construct a new three-unit retail building at the northeast corner of West State and North Franklin streets.
The plan, situated in the Central Commercial zoning district, provides pedestrian access along State Street and vehicular access/parking from an existing private alley running parallel to State.
Following a review by the Zoning & Planning Committee on Sept. 8, council granted approval on Sept. 15 subject to conditions, including that the applicant resolve all outstanding items cited by the borough engineer, borough water engineer, Water Department director, the Shade Tree Commission, and the Building Inspector to staff’s satisfaction.
The developer will also contribute $3,600 to the Shade Tree Fund and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Council also approved a slate of technical waivers recommended by the committee.
After hearing no public comment, council voted to grant the waivers and approve the project in line with the committee’s recommendation.
Construction may proceed once the applicant satisfies the listed review letters and standard pre-construction requirements.
