North Penn Water Authority (NPWA) is marking six decades of service to Bucks and Montgomery counties with a community celebration at its Operations Center this week.
The authority will host an open house Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at 300 Forty Foot Road. The free event will showcase NPWA’s history and include demonstrations related to the public water system.
Festivities will include light refreshments — hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, cake and an ice cream truck — along with family entertainment such as face painting, balloon art, a moon bounce and an obstacle course. Visitors will also have the chance to check out NPWA trucks and equipment and receive giveaways, including the utility’s stainless steel “Refill from the Tap” water bottle.
Formal remarks are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Speakers include Executive Director Tony Bellitto, Deputy Executive Director Keith Hass and NPWA Board Chair George Witmayer. State Rep. Steve Malagari is confirmed to present citations on behalf of local officials, and the event will also feature a dedication of the NPWA boardroom.
The open house continues the authority’s efforts to connect with customers and highlight the importance of safe, reliable public water. More information is available at npwa.org
