A ‘Charlie Kirk Candlelight Vigil for Peace’ will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Weingartner Park in North Wales Borough in memory of the slain activist.
The vigil is meant to be bipartisan and is not officially backed by any organization. Clergy from several local churches have been invited to attend, and candles will be provided, according to organizer Lisa Vogel.
“We’re having a huge response so we’re hoping for a very good turnout,” she said.
Kirk, the founder of activist group Turning Point USA, was assassinated in a shooting at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, Sept. 10, and a suspect was reportedly taken into custody late Thursday, according to reporting from The Associated Press.
