A Warminster woman is facing felony charges after deputies said she lied to them about the whereabouts of a wanted man who was later found hiding in her apartment closet.
Gail Ann Hills, 64, of the 1500 block of West Street Road, was charged Aug. 27, 2025 by the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office with felony hindering apprehension by harboring or concealing a defendant, according to court records.
Deputies with the sheriff’s Warrant Service Unit arrived at Hills’ apartment on the morning of Aug. 27 to arrest Paul Gibbons, 45, who was wanted on multiple criminal dockets. Investigators said Hills told them at the door that Gibbons was not inside, repeating earlier claims she had made by phone.
According to the affidavit, deputies entered the apartment shortly after 7 a.m. and located Gibbons hiding in a closet. He was arrested on the outstanding warrants.
Court filings show deputies had tried to arrest Gibbons at the same residence two days earlier, but were unsuccessful. The day before the arrest, Hills allegedly admitted by phone that she was aware of the warrants and that Gibbons might avoid the apartment.
Hills was released on $50,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled for a Sept. 29 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Christopher E. O’Neill.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
