Senior co-captain Emma Shaeffer and sophomore Mikayla Loux each found the net in the second half Wednesday as Pennridge defeated Central Bucks East 2-0 in a key SOL Colonial Division matchup. The win marked the Rams’ third straight and handed the defending District 1-4A champions their first loss of the season, according to The Reporter.
Pennridge (3-2, 2-0 division) broke a scoreless first half just moments after the restart when Loux buried a penalty kick for her fourth goal in as many games. Eight minutes later, Gabriella Howley set up Shaeffer for the Rams’ second strike, sealing a statement victory for a group still finding its identity under first-year coach Lucas Kriner.
The Patriots (2-1, 1-1) played most of the night without standout junior Kiera Sleicher, who exited with an injury in the first half, but still pushed Pennridge’s veteran backline and Marist-bound goalkeeper Seretha DeMoss. With the result, Pennridge jumped into first place in the Colonial Division.
