The Central Bucks School District has launched the first phase of a multimillion-dollar construction project at Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown, part of a sweeping grade-level realignment that will bring ninth graders to the school next year.
Crews are working to finish initial upgrades — including new classrooms and common areas — before the first day of school on Tuesday, according to the Bucks County Herald.
According to the district, future phases will extend into the school year and continue through next summer, with projects ranging from a partial infill of Courtyard A to extensive renovations of the library, cafeteria, science labs, music rooms and administrative offices. The plan also includes building additions along McFarlane Lane. District officials stressed that construction areas will be sealed off from student spaces during the process.
The changes come as Central Bucks prepares for a major realignment of its schools over the next several years, including the addition of sixth graders to middle schools in 2026 and a pilot program for full-day kindergarten beginning in 2025.
