A two-vehicle crash near Barness Park in Warrington left at least two people dead Friday night, according to initial reports.

The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. along the 2600 block of Bristol Road, a stretch of roadway with one lane in each direction and no shoulders.

According to reports, a silver Toyota carrying at least three occupants was involved in a collision with an older-model black Ford Explorer. Two people inside the Toyota, reportedly the driver and passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third passenger in the rear of the vehicle was removed and placed on a stretcher and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

An occupant of the Ford Explorer remained at the scene and was seen speaking with police.

Emergency crews from Warrington Police, New Britain Township Police, and Central Bucks EMS responded to the crash. Fire and rescue units were called for vehicle extrication efforts due to the severity of the collision.

Bristol Road is expected to be closed in both directions for several hours while authorities investigated the scene and clear debris. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Warrington Township Police.
