The Bucks County Bar Association issued a statement after a political mailer about the candidates for judge.
The mailer from the Pennsylvania Democratic Party that stated the four Democratic judicial candidates were “Highly Recommended by the Bucks County Bar Association.”
The Doylestown-based association said in a statement that the claim in the mailer is “false” and “misleads the public,” as members of the bar rank candidates and not the association.
The bar association clarified that it does not endorse or recommend any judicial candidate.
The organization’s role in evaluating candidates is limited to a Judicial Plebiscite, the results of which were released April 29.
“The plebiscite is intended to help educate voters on the qualifications of the judicial candidates,” the association said.
The results compile the individual responses of the members of the Bucks County Bar Association.
The results:

The Democratic candidates for the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas bench named in the mailer are Linda Bobrin, Dawn DiDonato-Burke, Amy Fitzpatrick, and Tiffany Thomas-Smith.
The Republican candidates are Joe Pizzo, Chelsey Crocker Jackman, Colin Monahan and Grace Deon.
Also appearing on the ballot for retention, in a nonpartisan section, are Judge Brian McGuffin and President Judge Raymond McHugh. They were not mentioned in the mailer or rated by bar members as they are already serving.
