A registered Pennsylvania sex offender from Hatboro has been charged with nine felony counts each of permitting a child under 18 to engage in sexual acts that are photographed, videotaped, filmed or depicted on a computer, possession of child sexual abuse material, and contact with a minor for sexual abuse, as well as additional felonies, for allegedly exchanging sexually-explicit videos and photos with a 14-year-old Montgomery Township girl over Snapchat.
River Tyler Stauch, aka River Tyler Hartley, 23, of the 40th block of Rorer Avenue, a Tier 2 sex offender, was also charged Oct. 15 with felony counts of disseminating photos of films of child sexual abuse materials, sexual extortion by coercing a victim to make, produce or disseminate child sexual abuse materials, corruption of minors, four felony counts of disseminating explicit sexual material of a minor, criminal use of a communications device, and failure to register with the Pennsylvania State Police, according to court records.
According to the affidavit, on May 7, 2025, the victim’s father went to Montgomery Township Police to report his 14-year-old daughter has been communicating with Stauch over Snapchat. Police said text communication allegedly showed Stauch attempting to get the victim to Uber to his home.
He then allegedly sent an inappropriate photo of himself, police said. A screenshot of the text showed the victim writing “let’s hope n pray I don’t get caught” to Stauch, police said..
On July 23, detectives interviewed the victim, who admitted meeting Stauch on Snapchat, wherein he allegedly asked for nude photos of the teen on the first night, in which the victim sent seven photographs in various states of undress, police said.
Eventually, Stauch and the victim got into an argument, due to Stauch getting upset that the victim was not sending him photographs, and Stauch threatened to send the recordings of the pair's interactions to family and friends of the victim over Instagram, according to the complaint.
According to the PA Megan’s Law website, Stauch began registering as a sex offender in July 2023, convicted of unlawful contact or communications with a minor twice, in 2022 and 2023.
Stauch is jailed on $75,007 cash bail, which includes a probation detainer, ahead of an Oct. 28 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael P. Quinn, in Narberth, according to court records.
