Two Philadelphia men are facing felony charges after Central Bucks Regional Police allegedly found them in a stolen vehicle with a stolen handgun, marijuana and multiple car key fobs in a New Britain Borough parking lot.
Police said the incident began Oct. 14 after a license-plate reader alerted nearby departments to a red Honda Accord reported stolen from Philadelphia. The vehicle was soon located at CoPart along the 70th block of Bristol Road.
Police said one man, identified as Ubaidullah Ibraheem Muhammad, 24, was sitting in the driver’s seat and found in possession of marijuana and a car key fob. The second man, Hudhaifa Yasir Muhammad, 22, was located inside the business and had a similar key fob, police said.
A search of the Honda uncovered a bag containing several packages of marijuana, three car key fobs, and a loaded Ruger SR-40 handgun that police later confirmed was reported stolen out of Philadelphia, according to the affidavit.
Police said the two men were taken into custody and processed at headquarters.
Both defendants are charged with two felony counts each of receiving stolen property, and felony counts of possessing a firearm without a license and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to charging documents. Additional misdemeanor charges for both include receiving stolen property, possessing an instrument of crime, making repairs to an offensive weapon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and marijuana possession, according to court documents.
Bail for both men was 10% of $200,000 cash each, set at arraignment by Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage, but later amended per Common Pleas Court order to 10% of $100,000 cash for each one, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for both defendants for Nov. 18 before her court.
Hudhaifa Muhammad is awaiting a preliminary hearing for an arrest in East Norriton Township on 12 felonies, including identity theft, receiving stolen property, access device fraud, and knowledge that property owned is proceeds of an illegal activity, according to court records.
Ubaidullah Muhammad was put on three years’ probation in November 2023 in a Philadelphia conviction, according to court documents.
