A U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft demonstration took place Tuesday morning at Central Bucks High School South in Warrington Township as part of the 250th anniversary celebration of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
The event, which began around 9 a.m., featured numerous helicopter landing demonstrations on school grounds for CB South students, with additional ceremonial performances scheduled throughout the day.
Warrington Township Police, Fire, and EMS were on scene to assist with operations and traffic safety.
As part of the demonstration, Bristol Road was intermittently closed between Folly Road and Lower State Road, with local authorities managing traffic during takeoffs and landings.
Officials emphasized that the event was closed to the public and limited to students and staff.
According to Central Bucks administrators, the visit served as both a celebration of naval history and a learning opportunity, coordinated over several months with Navy representatives, law enforcement, and emergency management officials to ensure safety.
The stop at CB South was one of several events across the Philadelphia region marking the Navy and Marine Corps’ semiquincentennial. The school has a long tradition of honoring service members through its Operation Eternal Gratitude program, which has sent tens of thousands of care packages overseas since its founding in 2005.
The event concludes at 11 a.m., with roadways expected to reopen shortly after aircraft departure
