New Britain Township Police are reminding motorists to buckle up as they begin a Thanksgiving-season seatbelt enforcement campaign.
The department announced that now through Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, officers will conduct extra patrols focused specifically on unbelted drivers and passengers.
Police stressed that occupant safety is both essential and required by law. Anyone driving with passengers is responsible for ensuring everyone is properly restrained, and drivers transporting infants, toddlers, or young children must secure them in a properly installed and correctly adjusted child safety seat.
The department also encouraged families to use the NHTSA Car Seat Finder Tool, which helps parents identify the correct seat for a child’s age, height, and weight.

Commercial drivers were additionally reminded that seatbelt violations are primary offenses under federal regulations, applying to both drivers and passengers under 49 CFR 392.16.
