Central Bucks School District touted its students’ academic growth based on the most recent Pennsylvania Value-Added Assessment System results, according to a recent news release.
PVAAS measures student growth over time, not just achievement, to help schools understand how much progress students are making each year compared to their past performance. The goal is for every student to achieve at least one year’s worth of growth annually, according to the release.
“Across Central Bucks, students exceeded the goal of one year’s academic growth in every tested subject area and grade level,” wrote Substitute Superintendent Dr. Charles Malone in a recent district email.
“These results are a powerful reflection of the passion and expertise of our teachers; the planning and strategic thinking of our administrators and school board; the care and dedication of our support staff across all departments; the focus and hard work of our incredible students; and the strong partnerships with our families to prioritize student learning and well-being,” Malone said. ”Together, as a community invested in excellence, we are ensuring that every student not only achieves but continues to grow.”
