The Warminster Township Board of Supervisors announced that Corporal Brian Outland of the Warminster Township Police Department has been promoted to Sergeant, where he will lead the C Squad.

He was sworn in by the Magisterial District Judge Christoper E. O’Neill  at the Nov. 6 Warminster Township Supervisor’s meeting. Outland was accompanied at his swearing in ceremony by his wife Marianne and his seven children.

Outland grew up in Warminster Township, was a 1999 graduate of William Tennant High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing in 2002 from Penn State University. He graduated from the Montgomery County Police Academy in 2002 and joined the Warminster Township Police Department in 2003, as a crime scene investigator. In 2007, he was promoted to field training officer and in 2018 he was promoted to corporal.

Outland began his studies with the State Police Leadership Program in 2020, which he completed in 2024.

According to a news release, that same year he began the FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA) program and completed the Supervisor Leadership Institute, the first of three installments. He anticipates completing the remaining installments, part of the Command Leadership Institute, in 2026, and the Executive Leadership Institute in 2027.

“I had the honor of conducting Sergeant Outland’s initial interview when he joined the Warminster Police Department in 2003,” said Chief James C. Donnelly III. “Since then, I’ve had the privilege of watching him grow into the exceptional leader he is today. On behalf of the entire department, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sgt. Outland on his outstanding achievements, and wish him continued success.”
