Central Bucks Regional Police are investigating a dangerous incident after a chunk of concrete was thrown from the Dublin Pike overpass onto Route 611 in Doylestown Borough, shattering a car’s windshield Friday afternoon.
According to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Friday in the northbound lane of Route 611.
Three juveniles were seen leaning over the overpass railing just before the incident, police said. Investigators said one juvenile — described as about 5 feet 7 inches tall with long brown hair, wearing a dark beanie and dark jacket — dropped a 3-inch by 3-inch piece of concrete that struck a passing vehicle.
The concrete smashed the vehicle’s windshield, causing significant damage. The driver was not injured, police said.
The juveniles were seen running from the area toward East Sandy Ridge Road on Old Dublin Pike immediately after the incident.
“This was a highly dangerous act that could have caused serious injury or death,” police said in a public alert.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, has dash cam footage, or can identify the juveniles involved to contact Officer Greg Kutys at 215-345-4143 or submit a tip through the department’s online system.
The investigation remains ongoing.
