A Sellersville Borough man charged with child pornography offenses by Bucks County detectives for allegedly making child sexual abuse material available for download online and having more than 320 photos and videos on his computer heads to county court on all charges following a preliminary hearing last week.
John Mark Efkowitz, 38, of an apartment on the 300 block of East Park Avenue (Route 152), was charged earlier this year with felony counts of disseminating photos and films of sex acts of children under 18, possession of child pornography, and criminal use of a communications device, according to court documents.
He is free on $500,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
On July 3, 2025, Bucks County detectives were running an undercover computer program that was attempting to identify computer devices in the county that were using a BitTorrent file-sharing protocol to download and share child sexual abuse materials, police said.
Authorities were able to complete single source downloads of several files that a target computer was making available for sharing, with 49 files downloaded in all, police said. Multiple files were videos of prepubescent and pubescent females posing nude, police said.
The investigation led to Efkowitz as the owner of the computer, according to the affidavit. A search warrant was conducted at Efkowitz’s apartment on July 30, 2025.
Efkowitz, police alleged, admitted to possessing child pornography.
During the search, an external hard drive, laptop, and computer tower were collected and examined, with more than 143 videos and 183 images of child sexual abuse material found on the devices, according to the complaint.
He is represented by King of Prussia defense attorney David Craig McKenzie III. He will be arraigned in county court Dec. 5.
